Jamaica Plain, fondly titled ‘JP’ for short, is one of Boston’s most dynamic neighborhoods rapidly becoming a “Live-Work-Play'” destination. Housing options range from single and multi-family homes to apartment and condominium buildings.
Located to the southeast of Downtown Boston, Jamaica Plain is often referred to as “the Eden of America” with a number of parkways and green open space. Jamaica Plain boasts some of Boston’s most picturesque destinations along the Emerald Necklace. The crown jewel of the JP parks is the Arnold Arboretum, the oldest public arboretum in the United States. Equally popular and beautiful is the 68-acre Jamaica Pond which is stocked every year with fish and sailboats and rowboats are available for rent during summer months.
Jamaica Plain offers excellent access to a multitude of transportation, shopping, dining and entertainment offerings in the immediate area. Local, home-grown stores make this neighborhood a warm and inviting space for residents new to the area. The neighborhood is serviced by the MBTA Orange Line and Commuter Rail at the Forest Hills Station as well as multiple bus lines.
